Fire damages 1,000 shop mannequins in Fulbeck

About 1,000 shop mannequins have been damaged in a fire which struck a site in Fulbeck yesterday.

Fire crews from Newark, Sleaford and Waddington attended the blaze in a yard at commercial premises on Brant Road at about 7pm.

Firefighters used three main jets, two breathing apparatus and one main pump to deal with the blaze at Mannakin Ltd. Plumes of black smoke were reported rising above the site.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was finally put out by 3am this morning. It said the cause of the fire was controlled burning which got out of control.

Firefighters are returning to the site for another inspection this morning.

Mannakin Ltd deals in the hire of recycled shop mannequins.
