LEADER of South Kesteven District Council Linda Neal has expressed her delight that the authority’s decision to reject major development plans for Manthorpe has been upheld by the Planning Inspectorate.
She believes it is an important step in ensuring future growth and investment for Grantham.
Coun Neal said: “We want to promote new homes and businesses where they support the growth of Grantham – especially to the south of the town – where we have now had the good news that the southern relief road is being supported by Lincolnshire County Council and South Kesteven District Council.
“This decision fully supports the priorities that this council and our partners have worked hard to agree on and develop.
“The decision validates the framework we have developed for Grantham with large scale housing developments to the south and the north west of the town supported by the provision of key infrastrucuture, especially the southern relief road.
“This decision represents an important step in ensuring we can harness the right future investment in the town.”
