Outdoor seating proposed for Great Gonerby pub

The Recruiting Sergeant pub, in Great Gonerby, has successfully sought permission to create a new external seating area.

Owners of the pub, Everards Brewery, has been given listed building consent to erect the seating around the stables area of the pub grounds.

The work would include the installation of raised seating, divided into three sections, erection of timber fencing and installation of festoon lighting.

The fencing around the seating area would be approximately one metre high, with the festoon lighting attached to the northern elevation of the stable blocks.
In her report, Sylvia Bland, a South kesteven District Council service manager, said the work would enhance the viability of the public house and help to ensure that the listed building was in continued active use.
