Abstract paintings are on display at the Willoughby Memorial Trust Gallery in Corby Glen.

Doreen Bright works in oil, pastel and acrylic to convey environmental issues such as pollution and global warming.

The abstract paintings in her ‘Colour of Pollution’ series are based on newspaper photographs of oil slicks. Discovering new techniques and materials, she experiments with media and application at times using car engine oil and mud on her canvases.

The free exhibition starts tomorrow and runs until August 11 with the gallery in Moreley’s Lane, open from noon until 5pm Tuesdays to Sundays.
