DANYL Johnson of X Factor fame played a gig for a group of pals in Grantham.

The 2009 semi-finalist performed in a living room in Kedleston Road for competition winner Alison Robson and friends Jake Brindley, Leah Brindley and Stuart Winters.

Young Fenton and Alison’s sister Vee were also invited to the small gig, which was played by Danyl and a guitarist.

Alison won the treat in a competition featured in OK! Magazine.

She said: “It was strange having him perform, but he was so bubbly and so much like an ordinary person that we forgot that he was even famous.

“He was incredibly friendly and laidback, and told us a bit about himself. He stayed for nearly two hours, as he had some other performances to go to, but it seemed like much longer.”

Snacks were provided for the gang by Chicago Town, which was also behind the competition.
