Parents complain after Grantham school asks pupils not to send Christmas cards to help environment
A primary school has called on its pupils not to send Christmas cards to each other this year to help save the environment.
The headteacher of Belton Lane Primary School in Grantham says the idea has come from the children themselves. In a letter to parents, Jonathan Mason has asked that pupils only send one card to all the children in their class to cut down on the number of cards sent.
But some parents have complained that the request is not in the spirit of Christmas and have questioned whether it is environmentally friendly to send out letters to the parents.
