Pets at Home Grantham and animal centre launch fund-raiser

By Grantham Reporter

Pets at Home in Grantham has launched a nationwide fund-raising event, encouraging pet lovers to purchase a charity scratch card to help pets in need this summer.

Running until 3 July, Pets At Home Grantham is inviting customers to purchase a ‘Scratch Patch’ scratch card for just £1, with the chance to win one of over 175,000 prizes worth over £100,000, with 50 inch 4k TVs, National Trust memberships, luxury luggage sets being among the prizes.

For four weeks, the store team will be working hard to raise as much money as possible as part of an initiative being run by the charity, Support Adoption For Pets. The Grantham store has partnered with local pet rescue Radcliffe Animal Centre to help with the fundraising efforts. Radcliffe Animal Centre will benefit directly from the funds raised.

Store manager, Vicky Martin, said: “The whole team at our store is geared up and ready to raise as much money as possible to help Support Adoption For Pets reach their fundraising target.

“To know that this money will go towards supporting fantastic rescues who work to help unwanted and abandoned pets is a real motivator to do the best we can. We’re calling for all local pet owners and animal lovers to get onboard and donate whatever they can to this important cause.”

Half of the money raised will be donated to Radcliffe Animal Centre who work hard to rescue and rehome abandoned pets. The remaining donations will go to the Support Adoption For Pets grant funding programme, which allows rescues to apply for additional funding to support their re-homing activities.

Amy Wilson, Fundraising Manager at Support Adoption For Pets, commented: “The summer fundraising drive is a great opportunity for people to make a small donation that can make a massive difference to a pet rescue centre.

“We’re always so impressed by the great effort that stores go to, to raise money for their partnering charity, and we can’t wait to see what this year holds.”
