Sweet Pea Week at Easton Walled Gardens (July 5-12) was a popular event once again, attracting plenty of visitors keen to see the beautiful flowers.
Every year, the visitor attraction raises hundreds of sweet pea plants, a spectacular sight seen in full bloom at this time of year.
There are over 100 varieties – heritage, modern, scented, striped, edged and bicolour – while gardeners raise the oldest known sweet peas right through to two new unnamed cultivars. They were displayed on canes, drums and wigwams throughout the pickery, vegetable and cottage gardens.
