PLANS to demolish a house in Great Gonerby and replace it with four new properties were rejected by planners.
The proposal would have seen four new homes built in place of the current property at 47 Pond Street.
However, councillors on the district council’s development control committee decided to reject the proposal, which would have been “detrimental to the character of the village”.
It was also decided the proposal would intrude on the grade II listed Elms Farmhouse.
Mr Hutchinson, who lives nearby, spoke out against the proposal, saying: “The parking problems in this area are legendary.”
Councillors voted unanimously to reject the proposal by 13 votes to zero.
