Plans for five new homes on vacant grassland in Grantham
A plan to build five homes in a residential area of Grantham has been submitted on currently vacant grassland.
If the outline application is successful, five houses and associated garages would be built on land bound by Kenwick Drive, Southlands Drive, Bellwood gardens, and Twyford Gardens.
The site, described as “untended grassland”, would be accessed via a road between 11 and 15 Kenwick Drive.
The roughly triangular shaped land is approximately 0.45 hectares in size.
Previous applications to develop the site were approved in both 2004 and 2006.
In 2004, full planning permission was granted to build a five-bedroom house on the site, while in 2006, permission was given to construct five homes on the land.
The planning statement said: “Whilst neither of these consents was implemented at the time, they clearly establish the in-principle suitability of the site for a multi-dwelling residential development.”
It added that the development “will not detract from the character and appearance of the locality”, but instead “integrate with the existing built form”.
