Police and helicopter stopped suspected serial burglars on A1 near Grantham

Nottinghamshire Police have released details of the two suspects they pursued though Long Bennington and Foston with unmarked cars and a helicopter on Friday.

Foston and Long Bennington residents reported seeing unmarked police cars speeding through Foston and Long Bennington at about 5pm, along with a police helicopter.

Officers caught the suspect vehicle on the A1 southbound at Little Ponton, and a female driver was arrested for failure to stop.

Maureen Price, 28, has been charged with this offence and five counts of burglary. Phillip Bembridge, 72, of no fixed abode, was also charged with five counts of burglary.

They both appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 29.

They are due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, July 13.
