Police commissioner election hopefuls for Lincolnshire come forward

CANDIDATES in the race to be police and crime commissioner for Lincolnshire have begun to come forward.

So far, those who have announced their intentions to stand include Conservative Lincolnshire county councillor Richard Davies, Labour South Kesteven district councillor Phil Dilks, Boston borough councillor and English Democrat Elliot Fountain, and independents David Bowles and Mervyn Barrett OBE.

However, they have not yet formally registered their intentions to stand,

Police and crime commissioners will be elected in 41 areas in England and Wales and will have power over budgets, policing priorities and chief constables.

The Notice of Election will be made on or before October 8, and nominations must be in by October 19. Voters will go to the polls on November 15.
