Police helicopter used to find man 'with weapon' in Grantham

A police helicopter was used after police received a report that a man was in possession of a weapon just after 8pm last night.

The suspect was in a car at the entrance to an Industrial Estate near Spittalgate Level.

Firearms officers, supported by the NPAS helicopter, traced the vehicle to the travellers rest site.

A police spokesman said: "One man in his 30’s was arrested and an air rifle and a BB gun were recovered."

He remains in custody.
