Residents across Lincolnshire are being warned after several reports of a telephone scam where a caller impersonates a police officer.
The scam operates by the caller stating he is DC Wright of the Met Police based at Paddington station, and that he is currently carrying out a fraud investigation relating to credit cards.
He then requests details of your credit cards so that they can be checked, and police want to remind the public to never give out details of this nature.
Police officers would normally call in person and carry out identification.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating this matter and would welcome any further information, such as caller ID and telephone numbers.
Please report any similar occurrence by ringing 101 and quoting incident 113 of October 27.
