Lincolnshire Police says it is conducting a review after it told Grantham Scouts that it could no longer police the annual St George’s Day parade.

Grantham councillor Ray Wootten, a member of the police and crime panel, has written to the chief constable reminding him “of his commitment to the community and that officers from the Special Constabulary could be utilised free of charge, or PCSOs”.

In a reply to Coun Wootten, the force said: “...a review is being conducted regarding Lincolnshire Police’s commitment to policing all events across Lincolnshire.

“At present there has been no decision made regarding the review but once that decision has been reached I will contact you so that we can discuss the matter further.”
