A development company has submitted plans for 300 homes on just under 14 hectares of land to the south of Barrowby Road.
Gladman Developments Ltd has submitted its application following a consultation with members of the public, South Kesteven District Council and Barrowby Parish Council.
This has led to a reduction in the scale of the housing scheme, with the number of properties reduced from the 355 originally planned.
It is proposed that 35 per cent of the new homes will be affordable housing.
The pre-application consultation has also led the developers to scrap plans for an accompanying convenience store, and to increase the amount of open space including the creation of play areas.
The application is accompanied by a transport assessment compiled by Hydrock Consultants, which states that the proposed site access is via a ghost island right turn off Barrowby Road, which has been agreed in principle with Lincolnshire County Council.
As part of the development on the 13.7 hectare site, footways will be created on both sides of the access junction, along with incorporated cycling routes and a link to Sheep Wash Lane.
The 13.7 hectare site comprises five formerly pastoral fields, although it is described in the application as ‘unmanaged with naturalised grassland and scrubland pockets’.
