Power cuts come to an end after hundreds of Grantham properties affected




Hundreds of homes and businesses now have power after a series of power cuts hit Grantham today.

A number of intermittent cuts hit properties throughout the town from this morning.

Western Power Distribution says the problem has now been resolved.

The company originally said 225 properties were affected but it is believed many more were hit as residents and businesses throughout the town reported power cuts from the Springfield Road area to businesses on Spittlegate Level.

The first cuts were reported about 11amand Western Power Distribution said on its website it was still trying to bring power back to a few properties around 4pm.

St Peter's Hill doctors' surgery was also affected by the cuts and was struggling to see patients as its computer systems and phones were down, but the surgery says everything is now back to normal.
