RAF Cranwell has bid farewell to its station commander.

The post has been disestablished with command transferring to the commandant of the station, air commodore Paul Oborn.

Another significant change which has taken place at the station is a name change.

Air commodore Oborn said: “It is a real privilege to take command of the entire Cranwell campus, which has been reconfigured under the new title of Royal Air Force College Cranwell.”

Former station commander and group captain Dave Waddington has left to take up a new post in operations abroad.

On leaving the station, he said: “It has been a great privilege to be the station commander of Royal Air Force Cranwell, a station that is so much a part of the history of the Royal Air Force.”
