Rapist on the run sought by police in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire
A convicted rapist who absconded from an open prison in Boston on Wednesday has still not been found.
Lincolnshire Police is working with colleagues in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, as well as the British Transport Police, in a bid to trace Stephen Tierney, 39, who was serving a sentence for rape.
He absconded from North Sea Camp.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: "Tierney has been assessed as posing a medium risk of violence towards the public who are advised not to approach him."
Tierney is around 5’7, of a small build and with brown/ginger hair and a tattoo saying “wrist” on his right arm.
He was last seen in Boston Market Place on Wednesday and may have used public transport to travel to Lincoln. Police say a number of calls have been received from the public and officers are "following up all information received".
He has connections to Northamptonshire and London.
