FIVE-YEAR-OLD fund-raiser Alfie Curry has received a certificate of recognition after raising £321 in memory of his grandfather.
Alfie, a pupil at Barrowby Primary School, has been coming up with a variety of fund-raising activities in recent weeks to raise money to fight motor neurone disease.
Now the Motor Neurone Disease Association have recognised his efforts with a special certificate.
Mum, Linda Curry, of Chilvers Close, Barrowby, said: “He’s doing so well but just keeps coming up with more ideas!”
Later this month Alfie will be holding a fund-raising part with his school friends in Barrowby.
The event was due to be held at the Barrowby British Legion before the building was gutted by a fire.
Linda said: “Everything we do is usually at the legion so we have moved to the Reading Room.
“Alfie was very upset when he walked past and saw what had happened.”
