Record sales for Newark Festival as Tony Hadley and 80s Night tickets are snapped up
Following the launch of Newark Festival in October, people have been snapping tickets up in their hundreds with record tickets sales being reported in the first few weeks.
Tickets have been so popular that the organisers have extended the Early Bird deadline for tickets until 9am on Monday, December 7.
Back for the fifth year running, this now well established three-day festival, taking place from June 17 to 19 at the Riverside Park in view of Newark Castle, presents as its highlight a strong 80s Night featuring Spandau Ballet’s own Tony Hadley, ABC, Bananarama and Midge Ure from Ultravox.
‘I’m a Celebrity’ star, Tony Hadley said: “This is the fifth year of the Newark Festival and I am delighted to be performing. The location is beautiful with the backdrop of Newark Castle and the crowd are a lively bunch I am told!”
Promoter Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE from LHG Live commented: “We’ve been delighted with the response to this year’s festival, and to see the Newark public once again embracing and supporting this weekend of family fun is wonderful.
“We received lots of feedback last year from festival goers who wanted tickets to be available for Christmas presents, and going on sale with early bird tickets has proven to be extremely popular – so much so that we’ve decided to extend this for another week to give as many people the chance to get their hands on them as possible.”
