Blooming marvellous display of daffodils

Visitors to Grantham will be greeted with a colourful display after green-fingered members at Grantham Sunrise Rotary Club planted 5,000 daffodil bulbs on Barrowby Road.

Fourteen members spent three days in November planting the bulbs, thanks to David Wilson Homes who provided the funds for the machinery, tools and the bulbs from Gedney Bulb Club, to create a ‘welcome to the town.’

The sunrisers and staff from David Wilson Homes gathered on Barrowby Road on Friday to see the daffodils in full bloom.

President Maggie Welton said: “I am so pleased that our hard work has been been rewarded by such a great display. It’s a joy to see. I hope everyone in Grantham and those visiting will enjoy the visual delight that the thousands of daffodils give when walking or driving into the town.”
