School treats their dads to donuts for Father's Day

Pupils at St Sebastian’s School, in Great Gonerby, treated their dads to a tasty donut for Father’s Day.

The proud dads were also invited into school to watch their children sing and read out poems in the school hall earlier this month.

A spokesperson at the school said: “ It was the first event of this kind that we have done for Father’s Day. We did ‘Muffins for Mother’s Day,’ so wanted to do something for the dads, too.

“Between 30 and 40 dads attended which was a lot more than we thought.”

Children in both Key Stage 1 and 2 also decorated a bag to take the donuts home with them.

The heart-warming event was organised by the parent, teachers and friends association (PTFA), along with staff and teachers at the school.

Around £100 was raised for the PTFA in donations from the dads, which will be used towards purchasing ‘little extras’ for the children.
