MOBILE library services to villages around Grantham face being scrapped.

Mobile library stops at villages such as Allington, Carlton Scroop, Great Gonerby, South Witham and Colsterworth could go, along with a stop in Woodlands Drive, Grantham.

Coun Eddy Poll, executive member for cultural services, said: “In the current financial climate, we need to ensure we only fund services that are wanted by residents. We’re currently reviewing a number of mobile library stops that are severely underused.”

Grantham councillorRay Wootten is encouraging people to use their service over the next three months or risk seeing it scrapped. He said: “I would encourage people to use the service or risk the library being withdrawn forever.”
