Slideshow: St George on the Green and traditional parade through Grantham

St George on the Green was a great success yesterday (Sunday).

The sunshine helped to bring out the crowds to the family fun day, on St Peter’s Hill Green.

Organised once again by the Grantham Carnival and Events Group, there was live music, fairground rides, traditional children’s games and dancing.

And in the afternoon, a number of scout and guide groups marched through the town centre to a service at St Wulfram’s Church, returning later in the afternoon. Scouts and guides taking part in the parade were then invited to a traditional street party in Abbey Gardens, in keeping with the 1940s theme.
