South Kesteven District Council refuses to budge over chief executive pay-off details

South Kesteven District Council has responded to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request made by the Journal demanding answers on the departure of former chief executive Aidan Rave and other senior officers.

Received two days later than the statutory 20-day deadline for FOIs, the response refuses to draw on details of any pay-off received by Mr Rave, who left the local authority suddenly in July.

An SKDC spokesperson said Mr Rave left to “pursue new ventures”, however several sources said his departure followed a spat with then leader of the council Matthew Lee. Coun Lee has since resigned as leader of the local Conservative Group and has left the running of the council to his deputy, Coun Kelham Cooke, until a new leader is chosen.
