Grantham St Wulfram's Church choir sings at Westminster Abbey on New Year's Eve
St Wulfram’s Church choir was given the honour of singing at Westminster Abbey on New Year’s Eve.
The choir sang Choral Evensong in the historic abbey. The invitation to sing there arose 18 months ago. The choir applied to sing there and sent references from two other major cathedrals as well as live recordings of the choir singing.
Dr Tim Williams, Master of the Music at St Wulfram’s, said: “When one of the dates offered was New Year’s Eve, I couldn’t resist taking the opportunity for our choristers. It made it such a special occasion, and many of the choristers then stayed on in London with their families and enjoyed the New Year celebrations and fireworks.
