St Wulfram's Church has applied for a premises licence as it aims to re-establish its medieval identity of hospitality and welcome.
Father Stuart Cradduck, who has been the rector of St Wulfram's for four years, said: "We now host several community events and celebrations alongside our many services.
"I truly believe that St Wulfram's is a place for all, regardless of faith, colour, creed.
"The temporary event notice system does not cover the scope or number of events we hold to enable us to continue to support our community."
The Parochial Church Council approved the application to SKDC for a premises licence earlier this month.
