Staff member tests positive for Covid-19 but Bingham junior school will remain open
A junior school has confirmed a member of its staff has tested positive for coronavirus — but the school is staying open.
The Robert Miles Junior School in Bingham was told on Sunday an adult working with Year 5 students had caught the virus.
The staff member, the students in that particular bubble and any other staff who could have been infected, have been sent home to self-isolate for 14 days.
Robert Gilbey, headteacher, said: “The school was given the information on Sunday that an adult working in the Year 5 bubble had tested positive for coronavirus.
"The school followed the guidance and advice given by Public Health England’s Nottinghamshire Health Protection Team and informed parents/carers that all children in Year 5, and the other adults working in that bubble, need to stay home for 14 days and self-isolate.
"The rest of the school is open as usual to all other year groups and is operating normally. Year 5 will have a full timetable of online learning from tomorrow.”
