Station Appoach plans will run town off the rails

Have your say

If you think our councils haven’t done enough to slow things down, spend a few hours looking at the so-called parking survey attached to the plans for redeveloping Grantham Station Approach.

They include ideas so moronic that you can tell it involved really expensive consultants. For example: let’s prevent anything but buses and taxis getting anywhere near the station, and why not close the two main pay and display car parks on Station Road, so travellers have a 15 minute diversion?

It is called ‘modal shift’ in planner speak, but it is more like a plan to increase queues on Wharf Road and help people miss their trains.

This should help make sure the remaining commuters who use the town follow the shoppers out of Grantham.
