Grantham Steampunk Society to host first Christmas event at the market

A steampunk society is holding its very first Christmas event, which will feature umbrella duelling.

Grantham Steampunk Society will host its first Victorian Christmas event on Saturday December 16 at Grantham Market between 11am and 4pm.

The event will feature entertainment, steampunk stalls and umbrella duelling.

There will also be carol singing and a light parade at the end of the day, featuring steampunks in full outfits.

Sharon Walker, one of the admins of the group, said: “This is our first event, so we are trying to get the Grantham steampunk community on the map.”

The group meets on the second Wednesday of every month, with the first date being the November 8 from 7.30pm at the Fox and Hounds in Old Somerby.
