Storm Barney swept through the area last night, and disrupted rail services between Grantham and Peterborough after a tree fell on the track.

Lincolnshire Police say they received 65 reports of trees down across the county, but there were fortunately no injuries.

Damage to fencing, gates and shop signs has also been reported.

Trent Road resident Magdalena Gudz tweeted photos of a tree that has fallen over into her neighbour’s garden. She said: “I am just glad my house hasn’t been damaged, but my neighbour’s fence and all of their front garden is covered by that tree.”

The storm was felt across the country, with the highest winds of 83mph recorded in coastal areas of North Wales.
