Grantham street cordoned off by police after woman is assaulted




A woman was assaulted in a Grantham street in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Police have cordoned off Oxford Street to investigate following the incident, which was reported to police at around 1.30am.

The woman was injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries were described by police as not serious.

A police spokesperson said: "We currently have a scene guard in place as investigations take place. If you have any information that may be able to assist the enquiry please call us."

Any witnesses to the assault, or anyone with information, is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency 101 number, quoting incident 27 of August 31.
