A hospice based in Peterborough will open a charity shop in Grantham next week.
The Sue Ryder – Thorpe Hall Hospice Appeal shop opens in The Pantiles on Monday.
Staff and volunteers have been busy in recent weeks fitting out the shop ready for the opening, under the supervision of Tara Thorpe, the retail fund-raising appeal manager for the Thorpe Hall Capital Appeal.
She said: “We’ve been keen to open a shop in Grantham for a long time so we’re delighted we have finally secured this one.
“We’ve already have people passing by asking us when we’re opening so we’re hoping demand from Grantham shoppers will be high.”
The shop will be run by a manager and part-time assistant manager. There will also be a number of volunteering opportunities available.
Funds raised in the shop will go to the appeal to fund the building of a new hospice at Thorpe Hall in Peterborough. Thorpe Hall Hospice provides end-of-life care for patients from across the region, including Grantham, Bourne and surrounding villages and towns.
The Grantham shop is the seventh opened since last summer in support of the £6 million appeal.
