President Maggie Welton and immediate past president Lez Jones attended the talking newspaper office on Wharf Road, Grantham, on Friday morning, as the latest compact disc news bulletins were being recorded and produced in readiness for dispatch to the hundreds of local people who have sight impairment and benefit from these audio compact discs.

Maggie said: “It is our privilege to assist in any way that we can. They provide such a wonderful service to the community and like us, are all volunteers, giving their time and skills to help others.”

John Williams, chairman of the Talking Newspaper, added: “This will give us an opportunity to buy at least 100 new envelopes which are very much needed right now.”
