Local hero and humanitarian aid worker John Asher is giving a talk tomorrow on the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven’s Trade Aid scheme.

The public are invited to attend the talk starting at 11.30am at McCarthy and Stone’s Martin Court development in Grantham, in order to hear about the great work Trade Aid do in supplying struggling communities around the world with equipment for training and sustainable work.

John’s key role in the success of Trade Aid was recognised when he won the Super Senior award at the Journal’s Grantham is Great awards in December and he has also received the Rotary’s highest honour ‘Service above Self’.

After enjoying the lecture, refreshments will be provided and visitors and their families will have the opportunity to speak with the McCarthy and Stone team.

Gill Sabin, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone commented: “We are very excited to be able to host John Asher, he’s very much a local celebrity in Grantham and his continued commitment to charitable work is awe-inspiring.

“We would like to extend a warm welcome to the local community to make the most of this exclusive chance to hear John tell his story, and also to discover more about the thriving and lively community of residents at Martin Court.”
