Sweet-toothed thieves caught with large haul of stolen chocolate in Grantham

Sweet-toothed thieves have stolen a large haul of chocolate from a store in Grantham.

Police in Grantham stopped the the two males on Oxford Street yesterday (Monday) after being alerted to suspicious behaviour by CCTV operators.

After a short foot chase the pair were arrested after they were found to be in possession of stolen goods, including nearly 50 bars of Dairy Milk family bars as well as men's deodorant and aftershave.

Sergeant Dan McCormack, of Grantham Police, praised the CCTV operators.

He tweeted: "Great work by @southkesteven CCTV again who identified two males acting suspiciously in Grantham. Both still in custody after being linked to multiple offences over the last few days. Investigation ongoing. #teamwork."

The items will be offered back to the store that they were taken from and destroyed if they turn it down.
