RotarySwimarathon 2021 given tentative green light as Grantham causes helped

As more RotarySwimarathon money was given out to good causes this week, organisers have announced that they plan to press ahead with the 2021 event in February.

Although dependent on Covid restrictions, it is hoped that fewer swimmers in teams, fewer volunteers, limited spectators and reduced changing facilities will see the three-day event go ahead from February 5 to 7.

RotarySwimarathon leader Roger Graves said: “We have started the usual planning for February on the basis that it will go ahead but we have to be realistic on the basis that it may have to be moved to a different date, in a reduced format or, if the worst came to the worst, we would ask teams to organise fund-raising events in their own groups/bubbles with funds coming to ourselves.
