Swimarathon pulls Grantham - and the world - together

Have your say

Well done and congratulations to Grantham Rotary Club.

I know we often look for things to celebrate in Grantham - and here’s something for the whole WORLD to celebrate.

On Saturday morning, we entered a team into the first ever Global Swimarathon at The Meres.

We felt that we were taking part in something special, there was a real sense of togetherness , a tangible example of community spirit.

With swimmers all over the globe attempting to break the world participation record and team donations helping to fund the eradication of polio, I think we ought to congratulate Grantham Rotary Club and Roger Graves in particular, not just for putting on the Swimarathon locally but for organising the event globally.

This is a first for Grantham.

Many thanks and good luck for next year.
