Take the Grantham firewalk challenge to help Rotary project
A charity fire walk will take place next month to raise money for a project run by the Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven.
The fire walk takes place on Sunday, October 30, at the Arena UK. There is a £35 entry fee to meet the cost of the walk, the training and health and safety requirements.
There will also be entertainment in the evening given by local band called Premier Cru.
The club is also looking for a musician who can provide some African drumming during the training on the day between 6.30pm and 8pm and is appealing for local businesses to sponsor the evening.
The event is being organised to support the building of school farms in rural Kenya. Working with UK charity Friends of Kianjai Kenya, monies raised from the walk will build water tanks, set up irrigation systems and enable the local community to farm and feed their children.
Participants can choose what level of sponsorship you would like to aim for - Silver walker £100, Gold walker £200, Platinum walker £300 or more.
Spectator tickets cost £10 and include a two course supper, entertainment plus music by Premier Cru, and of course the fire walk. Doors open 6.30pm and the fire walk is at 8.30pm.
