The legendary steam locomotive The Flying Scotsman will pass through Grantham next month following 10 years of renovation.

The locomotive will be touring the country and will pass through the town towards the end of February on its journey from York to London, although an exact date has yet to be confirmed.

It will pass through the town again on June 18 on its way back to London, after making its way from King’s Cross, through Peterborough, then Spalding, Sleaford, Lincoln and Gainsborough, before returning along the East Coast main line.

Restoration of the locomotive started in 2004 at the National Railway Museum in York, when it was bought for the nation.
