The search is on for the next Miss Grantham ...
The search is on to find the next Miss Grantham to represent the town at the Miss Lincolnshire contest.
The pageant are currently searching for a girl aged 16-26 from the Lincolnshire area to represent the county in the Miss England contest, which leads to Miss World.
Organiser Angie Sinclair, who was crowned Miss England in 1995, said: “We are very short on applicants from the Grantham area. It would be so nice to have more girls enter from Grantham.
“The Miss Grantham title is relatively new and so we’d love a local girl to win it. She would possibly become a kind of local celebrity within the area.”
Former Miss Grantham 2017 Olivia Ellis will be competing again and trying to win back the coveted crown.
The final of Miss Lincolnshire will take place in April at Kelham Hall in Newark.
Three titles and crowns are up for grabs on the night including Miss Grantham, Newark and Lincoln.
Applicants must be willing to do a bit of charity work and get involved with their community.
Angie added: “We have London fashion scouts attending the auditions and the final and they will be on the lookout for new faces to join their agency.”
There will be prizes up for grabs at the final in April and a place in Miss England, the winner of which goes to Miss World with a top prize of £100,000.
Angie added: “We are looking for all types of applicants. You certainly don’t have to be a size eight or six feet tall. We pride ourselves on being a diverse competition, and it isn’t about being the prettiest face or parading in a swimsuit any longer.”
The rounds at the final will be an eveningwear round fashion show, a charity round, a sportswear round and a Popularity round (public vote).
Applicants need to send a selfie or photo in with their name, age and a bit about themselves to email@example.com
The next round of auditions takes place on Sunday, February 24, at 3pm at Kelham Hall where the finalists will also be
