Hundreds of families across Grantham will have seen Newton the Easter Bunny this week, on his travels about town.
The bunny – named after Grantham’s son Isaac Newton – began his tour on Monday, and will bring it to a close today (Thursday) in the Alma Park area, between 4pm and 7pm.
All week he has been flanked by volunteers, all collecting money towards Huntingtower Community Primary Academy and Grantham Fire Station. Among them were the fire station’s Green Watch and Blue Watch.
Organiser Tess Sheehy, 44, said: “Well what can I say, yet another phenomenal year for Newton! What really thrills me every time is the looks on the children’s faces, smiling and waving when Newton is parading around – it certainly makes it all worthwhile.
“Thank you to everyone who has donated money to us on our rounds, the generosity has been overwhelming as always.”
If you haven’t managed to see the Easter bunny aboard his float there’s still a chance to meet him. Newton and his volunteers will be in the Isaac Newton Shopping Centre on Saturday to raise further money for the good causes.
