Tools and money among stolen items in latest spate of thefts from vans in Grantham




Four vans have been targeted by thieves in Grantham last night.

Money, a mobile phone and cigarettes was stolen from a van on Winchester Road in the early hours of this morning.

Thieves attempted to break into two more vans on the same road.

The owners of one of the vans were only alerted when the van alarm started going off at 2am and their dog started barking.

Power tools including a drill were also stolen from a van in High Meadow, Grantham.

The break-ins are the latest in a spate of thefts from vans in the Grantham area. Thousands of pounds worth of tools were stolen from six vans across Grantham last Monday night.

A police spokesperson said: "We are investigating and anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour can call 101."
