Grantham is given a spruce up by South Kesteven District Council's 'Big Clean' team
Parts of Grantham have been given a much-needed spruce up.
Falcon Court, Mallard Court and Kestrel Court in Grantham have enjoyed a thorough clean-up by South Kesteven District Council’s (SKDC) Big Clean team after residents identified key areas for action.
The work formed part of SKDC continuing programme to improve the local surroundings.
The most recent work made a huge difference to the streets, pathways, green areas and paved courts in the busy residential area of Grantham.
Cabinet member for housing and planning, Coun Robert Reid, said: “We join with residents and SKDC tenants in taking a pride in our surroundings to make the area a better and more attractive environment.
“This work is in addition to our basic street cleaning programme and we’re pleased to be able to make our market towns and their surrounding villages a better place in which to live, work and invest. It’s also about building strong local communities where everyone feels welcome and valued.
“Residents can still highlight any problem areas via a form on our website so that the team can get along to tackle them.”
The next few weeks will see the two Big Clean teams tackle more areas of Grantham, Stamford, Bourne and Market Deeping before heading out on their village schedule from September onwards.
