A talented South African singer and songwriter is hoping to break into the British music industry after moving to Grantham six-months-ago.
Alex Cavan, 25, became ‘a bit of a celebrity’ after he reached the final 32 on The Voice South Africa in 2017.
Despite not making it through the knock out stages, Alex who was born and raised in South Africa, went on to release two albums and has already released three singles this year.
He decided to move to England after being contacted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s ‘BBC music introducing in Lincolnshire’ programme, who aim to highlight the best under-the-radar Lincolnshire artists.
Alex, who likes to play ‘a little bit of everything’ including acoustic, loopy, folk, hip hop and soul, has been interviewed by the music programme several times over the last three years.
He said: “My mum lives in Grantham which is how they got to find out about me. I want to be able to pursue my music career more. Original artists seem to be more appreciated here so I am looking forward to getting out there.”
