Police are appealing for information after a driving school car was hit from behind while a student was at the wheel.

The collision happened at the junction of the Drift and the A607 at Harlaxton yesterday.

At around 4.30pm a blue vehicle, registration FJ6 4PVY, was sitting at the junction waiting to turn left onto Harlaxton Road. It was a David Smith school of motoring vehicle with the student in the driving seat and the instructor by his side when a vehicle, thought to be silver, drove up behind the learner driver and into the rear of the vehicle causing a large dent to the rear bumper. It is believed that the offending vehicle would have front end damage.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a white man with a female passenger. The driver of the offending vehicle stated that he would turn around and wait on the Drift for the driving instructor, but by the time he had turned the vehicle around the offender had driven away.

Lincolnshire Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information that may be relevant to the enquiry. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1007 Cheshire at Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 262 of 06/12/2014.
