THE A17 at Leadenham was closed for several hours on Friday following a collision which spilled “a considerable amount” of diesel on to the road.
Emergency services were called to the Leadenham by-pass at around 5.20am after receiving reports that a silver Ford Mondeo was in collision with a DAF heavy goods vehicle
A family from Scotland were trapped in the Mondeo for some time before being freed by firefighters and taken to Lincoln County Hospital.
A police spokesman said: “Thankfully their injuries are not serious and certainly not thought to be life-threatening.
“The driver of the HGV, from Berkshire, was not injured.”
The diesel spillage led to the road being closed for several hours.
