Driver injured after crash with HGV

A LORRY struck a car on the A52 and made off towards Grantham this morning ((Jan 13).

Police are appealing for witnesses after the HGV failed to stop after the road traffic collision at 8am at Sedgebrook, opposite the Transport Cafe.

The car, a white VW Golf, was waiting to turn right onto the cafe forecourt and was struck by the HGV.

The HGV caused damage to the whole of the offside of the car. The driver of the HGV did not stop at the scene and made off towards Grantham.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “At this time of day there was heavy traffic on the A52 and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the collision and seen the offending HGV.”

The passenger of the car received head injuries and required medical attention.
