Two men who were arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Cranwell Village on Friday (October 30) have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The men, aged 20 and 28, were said by police to be from the local area. Both were held in custody for questioning.

A police spokesman said the investigation continues after appealing for witnesses following a report of a man carrying a ‘knife-type weapon’ entering Cranwell Convenience Store on College Road in the village.

The spokesman said police received the report at 10.40am. The man demanded money from a female member of staff, which was handed over.

He is believed to have then left the premises and headed in the direction of RAF Cranwell.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in connection with the incident, is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 100 of October 30, 2015.

Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
